Collaborative Day Treatment Program

"Referral and access to service available only to the York CAS"

The Section 23 Collaborative Day Treatment Program is for children in the care of the York CAS, who are unable to manage in the regular educational system without the support and intervention of a small structured program.  The program is offered in partnership with the York Region District School Board and the York CAS.  The program provides a structured setting that helps children manage impulsivity and emotions, develop basic social and school-readiness skills, enhances self-esteem and awareness of self and others. 

The program utilizes a multi-disciplinary team including a specialized education teacher, child and youth workers who are always in the classroom, plus an Integrated Clinical Worker and other professional service providers.  Foster parents and biological parents are included in the services by working with the Integrated Clinical Worker and also working in cooperation with the classroom staff and utilizing classroom strategies.
